Become a reseller host
Create a reseller, give them privileges and resource pools, and let them sell hosting under their own brand, panel address and nameservers.
A reseller sells hosting from your server under their own name: an agency, a web designer or a partner company. They get the Reseller Panel, create their own customers' accounts from your packages, and can show their customers their own logo, panel address and nameservers. This tutorial sets one up from both sides.
You need: an administrator login and at least one package (see Packages).
Part 1: the administrator
1. Create the reseller
- Open Server Admin › Accounts › Resellers.
- In New reseller, enter the Username (for example
agencyone), the Email and the Max accounts (0 = unlimited). Leave Password blank to generate one. - Tick Send a welcome email and click Create.
The password is shown once at the top of the page.
2. Choose what they may do
- Click Privileges & pools on the reseller's row.
- Under Privileges of …, tick what they may do, for example Create accounts, Suspend and unsuspend accounts, Change plans, Use Log in as and Own brand and nameservers.
- Click Save privileges.
3. Set their pools
- In Resource pools, set Accounts, Disk pool (GB) and Bandwidth pool (GB a month).
- Tick Allow overselling if only what their customers really use should count against the disk pool.
- Click Save pools.
4. Decide on approvals
On Resellers, the Approval column decides whether their account deletes and full restores wait for you: Default, Needs approval or No approval. Click Save.
See Resellers and Reseller privileges.
Part 2: the reseller
The reseller signs in at https://reseller.yourdomain.com:8443.
5. Turn on two-factor login
Open your username at the top right › Password & security and click Set up two-factor login.
6. Show your own brand
- Open Reseller Panel › Account › My brand.
- Tick Show my brand to my customers, enter the Brand name, choose the Colour, and click Save brand.
- Under Logo, choose a PNG, SVG, JPG or WebP file of up to 512 KB and click Upload logo.
7. Give customers your own panel address
- Under Your panel address, enter the Host name, for example
panel.agencyone.com, and click Save address. - Where
agencyone.com's DNS is, add the A record shown, pointing at the server's IP.
The certificate is requested automatically once DNS points at the server.
8. Use your own nameservers
- Under Your nameservers, enter Nameserver 1 and Nameserver 2, for example
ns1.agencyone.comandns2.agencyone.com. Click Save nameservers. - At the registrar of
agencyone.com, create glue records for both names with the IP address shown.
Your customers' zones now list your nameservers.
9. Create a customer
- Open Reseller Panel › Accounts › Accounts and click New account.
- Enter the Username, Customer email and Main domain, and choose the Package.
- Leave Email login details to the customer ticked and click Create account.
The customer gets a welcome email and signs in at your panel address, under your brand.
