Capacity forecast
See when disk space, files and memory of the server are expected to run out, and which accounts grow fastest.
Capacity forecast predicts when this server's disk space and files (inodes) — per partition — and memory will run out, from how they grew lately.
Where: Server Admin › Server › Capacity forecast
How it works
Every 5 minutes HF Panel samples each partition's used space and files, the memory in use and the load (kept for 180 days). The forecast draws a weighted straight line through the daily peaks of the last 30 days (the busiest moment of each day, so the normal ups and downs of a day don't count as growth; recent days count more). With fewer than 4 days of history it uses hourly peaks; with less than a day it shows Not enough history yet.
Each resource card shows how much is used, Full in about N days (or Not running out), how much it grows a day and a 30-day chart. The administrator overview shows a card such as "Disk / full in about 9 days" when something is expected to run out within 60 days.
Accounts growing fastest
The accounts whose disk use grew most over the last 14 days, in MB a day, from the per-account usage history.
Warnings
Administrators get the notification Server resource running out when a resource is expected to run out within
each Warning step (14, 7 and 2 days by default; each step once, until the resource stops running out). Set the
steps under Warnings. The hook event server.capacity_low is raised at the same time.
Note: the forecast covers the server the panel runs on.
