Server Admin

The administrator panel of HF Panel — where you run the server, sell hosting, and manage every account, reseller and setting.

Server Admin is the administrator's side of HF Panel. From here you look after the server itself, sell your hosting plans, create and manage hosting accounts and resellers, and set up every server-wide service. Resellers sign in to the Reseller Panel and customers to the Control Panel; both are smaller versions of the same interface, limited to the accounts they look after.

The menu

The menu on the left groups every screen by type. Click a group's screens in any order; nothing has to be done in a fixed sequence.

Group What it is for
Server The overview, server health checks, services, the public status page, resource usage, operating system updates and HF Panel updates.
Billing & Business Selling your packages online, VAT and currencies, quotes and account credit, domain sales, your licence and business figures. On the official edition this group is called Business and also holds the licence server's screens.
Accounts Hosting accounts, resellers and their privileges, packages, feature lists, importing and moving accounts, extra servers, who is online, staff logins and approvals.
Hosting Every domain, database and WordPress site on the server, DNS templates and the DNS cluster, tunnels and Docker apps.
Email Mail health, the mail delivery log and notifications.
Security Malware scanning and the web firewall, the server firewall, account isolation and the activity log.
System Software and PHP versions, developer tools, system packages, web server profiles, config files, backups, the AI helper, settings and white label.
Support Support tickets, announcements and help articles.

Note: some menu entries carry a number. Server health (3) means three checks have failed; Support tickets (2) means two tickets are waiting for you.

Which edition you run

HF Panel comes in two editions, and the Billing group changes with it:

  • Licensed edition — the edition you install on your own servers. It needs a licence key, which you manage under Licence. The group is called Billing.
  • Official edition — runs only on HostFog Ltd's own server, which issues licences. The group is called Business and holds the licence server's screens instead of Licence.

The Billing & Business overview lists exactly which screens each edition shows.

The overview

Every sign-in opens Overview, the dashboard. It shows:

  • a warning when the last health check found problems, with a link to fix them;
  • a warning when a customer website watched by the uptime monitor is down;
  • key figures: accounts, websites, databases, people online now and monthly revenue, each with a 30-day trend where the data exists;
  • charts of the server's CPU and memory over the last 24 hours and traffic over the last 14 days;
  • a Server health card with load, memory, disk and the state of the main services;
  • All tools: every screen of the menu as tiles, grouped by area.

Sign in as a customer

Many screens, such as Accounts, Resource usage and Users online, have a Log in or Log in as button. It opens that customer's Control Panel without their password, so you can see exactly what they see.

Tip: keep two-factor login switched on for every administrator. Risky actions, such as deleting an account, ask for your password or a second administrator first — see Approvals.
