Databases
MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, a private Redis cache, and HF Studio for browsing your data.
The Databases group of the Control Panel holds everything your websites and apps store data in. Each database engine has its own screen; all of them open in HF Studio, the database browser, when you want to look at or edit the data itself.
Where: Control Panel › Databases
| Screen | What it is for |
|---|---|
| MySQL databases | MySQL (MariaDB) databases, their users and privileges, imports, exports and remote access. The usual choice for WordPress and PHP apps. |
| PostgreSQL databases | PostgreSQL databases, each with its own user of the same name. |
| MongoDB databases | Document databases for Node.js, Python and PHP apps, with users, roles and remote access over TLS. |
| Redis cache | Your own private in-memory cache, with one-click object caching for WordPress. |
| HF Studio | Opens the database browser in a new tab, already signed in. |
Names and limits
- Every database and database user name starts with your account name and an underscore, for example
sarahbakes_shop. You type only the part after the underscore: 1–15 lowercase letters, numbers or_. - MySQL and PostgreSQL databases count together towards your package's database limit. MongoDB databases have a separate limit, also set by your package.
- Redis memory sizes are limited by your package.
Note: a screen your package does not include is not shown in the menu. Ask your hosting provider if you need it.
