Live chat
Chat with your hosting provider's support team from any page of the Control Panel; when nobody is online your message becomes a ticket.
Live chat lets you talk to your hosting provider's support team while you work. The chat button sits in the bottom corner of every page of the Control Panel.
Where: the Chat with us button on every page, or Control Panel › Support › Live chat
Start a chat
- Click Chat with us. The chat panel opens with a greeting.
- Type your question and press Enter (or click Send). Shift + Enter starts a new line.
At the top of the panel you see whether someone is there: Agent is online or Agent is offline. While support types an answer you see Support is typing…. Answers appear at once; the chat button shows how many you have not read yet.
Messages are plain text, up to 2,000 characters each. Web addresses that start with http:// or https:// become
links you can click.
Note: you can send up to 10 messages a minute. Wait a moment if you see "You're sending messages too quickly".
When nobody is online
When no one from support is online (or it is outside their opening hours), your message is not lost: it becomes a support ticket and the chat tells you its number. You get an email when support answers, and you can follow the ticket on the Support screen. Further messages you send in the same chat are added to that ticket.
End a chat
Click End chat when you are done. To ask something else later, just type a new message: a new chat starts.
Support can also turn a chat into a support ticket, for example when an answer needs more time. The chat then says This chat is now support ticket #… and the whole conversation is in the ticket.
Tip: team members see the chat when their role includes Support (every preset role does; for a custom role, tick Live chat). See Team.
